Maintenance mode
Maintenance mode temporarily closes the application while you upgrade or restore.
Turning it on
Go to Admin → Cron & maintenance (super administrators):
- Write the message visitors should see.
- Choose whether short links keep working during maintenance (on by default, so your links never break).
- Turn on Maintenance mode.
What changes
| Who | Experience |
|---|---|
| Visitors and users | A branded maintenance page (HTTP 503) with your message |
| Short links | Keep redirecting, unless you turned that option off |
| API clients | 503 with the error code unavailable |
| Administrators | Full access, with a banner reminding them maintenance is on |
Sign-in, password reset, documentation and the abuse report form stay available so administrators can sign in.
The maintenance state is shown on the admin dashboard and in System health. Cron jobs keep running.
Turning it off
Switch Maintenance mode off on the same page. A restore turns maintenance on while it runs and switches it off when finished.
